These tunnels were built in 1941 as part of the Shorts Brothers extension to thier existing seaplane facotry, built into the chalk cliffs next to the river Medway at Rochester.
Joining onto the factory area was a tunnel that led into the air raid shelters built specifically for the factory workers.
Original signage remains from the factory and in the air raid shelters.
A few light fittings remain, along with some furniture and left over parts from the factory.
The site was used by Blaw Know Ltd in the early 1990's then sold and is now a housing estate. The land were the factory site was has been raised significantley, only a small part of the original tunnel entrance can be seen.
The only entrance now is gated and locked.
