An asylum set in beautiful surroundings around an old manor house which was the admin block.
The asylum is not contained in large blocks, but is seperated and spread out over 270 acres of land into individual wards, hospital, nurses accomadation and recreational areas.
The first buildings we came across was the main hall, completely trashed and graffitied by the local kids. Even so this is not a very grand hall like you find in so many other asylums, the low plain ceiling and flat walls make this a very uninspiring hall.
Next to the main hall was the salon, a seperate building but clearly a modern extra with completely diffent construction to the rest of the asylum.
With most of the buildings heavily boarded after years of being left wide open, access to many buildings was not possible
We manage to get into a ward which is in excellent condition with no damage anywhere, apart from this the trip was just a long walk past the morgue, engineering, the workshops, boiler house, swimming pool, the manor houses and the other wards and nurse blocks.
