Harperbury Hospital (Middlesex Colony)

Decaying corridors
This asylum is only a few miles from Napsbury asylum and Shenley which are both now fully converted in flats and houses.

The site of the derelict asylum is split in two with part of the hospital still in use, but only for training.

Layout is mainly of small villas, with large open areas of grounds surrounding them, and no corridors interlinking them.

The padded cells

We visited every single building we could the easy accessible buildings had been badly vandalised by pikies stealing anything they could, including all the copper piping which has led to a major water leak in one villa completely flooding it.
This has caused the villa to decay quicker in the damp and all the floors have collapsed.

Some of the more difficult buildings to get into, although stripped of all items, are completely free of damage and graffiti.
But we managed to achieve our main aim and that was to find the two padded cells.
