I cant find much history on this site, but was part of the Rotor Ground Control Intercept program during the Cold War to look for incoming Russian military planes and missiles and to alert the Government and armed forces.
The bunker has the typical rotor bungalow on the service to disguise the entrance to the bunker.
The bunker was bought by a local business man and soon as it was decomissioned in 1992 and is now a museum with a lot of original equipment still in place.
